Barely another area is able to offer as much variety in this regard as
Bad Mitterndorf.
Marvelous pistes for skiing & snowboarding await you on the Tauplitz, which, due to its favorable geographic location, boasts some of the most reliable snow conditions in all of Austria.
You have the opportunity to take the ski bus (the stop is right across from the hotel), your own car, the gondola lift or the chairlift (from the neighboring village of Tauplitz), up to the Tauplitzalm.
A ski school/ski rental business is likewise located opposite our hotel.
Cross-Country Paradise
Bad Mitterndorf
The broad, fog-free basin surrounding Bad Mitterndorf, with its gently undulating terrain, offers a network of tracked cross-country ski trails spanning over 180 km. You will encounter all levels of difficulty, while you can access the trail directly across from our hotel.

Night sledding in Tauplitz
Night owls, this is for you...
Floodlit sledding on the Grafenwiese in Tauplitz is magical!
The tow lift will bring you comfortably to the top of the mountain,
at which point you will be ready to slither and slide down the groomed mountainside back to the valley below. Our 75 sleds are designed specifically so that small children can sit safely up
front and ride with their mom or dad.
Now with automated speed check – zoom through the finish line at speeds up to 50 km/h! The night-sledding hill at the Grafenwiese is open every Tuesday and Saturday from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. During the Christmas holidays and in February, also every Thursday.
This atmospheric and adventurous evening experience might also include a visit to the Grafenwiese ski hut, where they serve a delicious selection of their own organic products as well as other tasty treats.
Every Tuesday: XL Burger Night (by advance order) with meat from their own organic cattle farm
Every Saturday: Ribs Night (by advance order) at the ski hut.
